As of June 2006, work is continuing on the eastern span replacement of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. The bridge is currently scheduled to open to traffic in 2013. [1]. The bridge, built in the early 1930s, became the subject of concern after a section collapsed during the October 17, 1989, Loma Prieta earthquake.
